The effect of heat treatment of the ozonized graphite on the physical adsorbability of N2 and Ar was investigated by measuring the adsorption isotherm of both gases at 77K. The heat treatment unexpectedly gave no drastic change but a very small increment of monolayer capacity of both gases. However, the phenomena found in the previous work, i.e., the appearance of the JE step, the occurrence of two almost linear BET plots for each N2 isotherm, and the disagreement between adsorption isotherm and desorption one, hysteresis, were also recognized in this case, which confirmed good reproducibility of these phenomena without distinction of the pretreatments.
