The present study focused on unsafe sexual behavior (the absence of a barrier contraceptive during oral, anal, or vaginal sex) as a prototypical risky behavior. Through the data provided by the ACHA-NCHA-II (American College Health Association\u27s National College Health Assessment), this study examined the extent to which the following four factors related to unsafe sex occurrence in the San José State University sample: age, stress, sleep, and alcohol use. In addition, this study examined SJSU students\u27 use of protective behavioral strategies (PBS) to minimize the harmful consequences of alcohol consumption as indicators of general levels of self-control.
