Previously we demonstrated that glutamatergic and noradrenergic receptors mediate the relay of visceral information through the parabrachial nucleus (PBN) and that calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), substance P (SP), somatostatin (SOM), neurotensin (NT), and cholecystokinin (CCK) may modulate these responses.
