Demonstration Test of Environmental Monitoring System in Field Work Study

The aim of this study is to develop an environment monitoring method / system based on geospatial information techniques. Sensor devices which include GPS module were tested through field work. Environment monitoring was tested in Prey Chuuteal village, Cambodia by measuring the temperature / humidity of the area and within the stilted house. The result showed difficulty in some mobile observation, especially when the observation takes long time comparing with the temporal change of the value to be measured. Still the test showed some advantages and possibilities for the method / system as an effective data collection for GIS based information utilization. Sensor information platform was constructed to utilize the information gathered by these devices. Platform is based on WebGIS to enable the collection of various sensor data as a participatory GIS implementation. Platform is also able to use outside geospatial information via internet, which is intended to improve the understanding of the data and environments
