Christopher Nolan\u27s Batman trilogy in film, i.e., Batman Begins(2005), The Dark Knight(2008), and The Dark Knight Rises to be released in July, 2012, solely following a`realism\u27 approach, will ever remain as a grand-styled`epic,\u27with thrilling stories, powerful performances, refined visual images, and nice and intellectual lines, in the history of American films.The Batman, a comic-book hero, who first appeared in the Detective Comics in 1939, is exactly the`cultural hero\u27 of America today. Nolan\u27s trilogy to be completed at the peak of its popularity, in this sense, may be interpreted as an all-inclusive interpretation of the thought and behavior of the`Caped Crusader\u27 in the context of the contemporary America.The shooting of TDKR, which began in May, 2011 and almost wrapped in December, has now entered into the post-production, and the first six-minute prologue, which tells about the early life of Bane, a new nemesis of Batman, will be released as a special footage in some IMAX theaters soon. Thus it is highly interesting to imagine out of the present state of film-making how Nolan will bring his Batman-saga to an end.The present paper is part of my series of preliminary essays for the conclusive discussion on aspects of linguistic and cultural representation in TDKR, to appear after the release of the film, followed by the publication of the script
