Mechanical properties of pure titanium(CP Ti)and titanium alloy(Ti-6Al-4V)which are used in dental biomaterials are examined. Tensile strength of pure titanium is about 200MPa and that of titanium alloy is about 400MPa. On the other hand, bending strength of those materials is considerably larger than tensile strength. Low cycle fatigue strength is also studied under pulsating stress condition by three-point bending test and time strength of these materials is shown. Though the absolute values of S-N curve of these materials are different, the normalized values of S-N curve by static bending strength are approximately the same and some discussions are given for the fatigue limit of these materials by comparing with the strength under static...
