Recently, accidents and trouble caused by human error are happening frequently in a number of industrial fields. In order to accomplish work safely, it is being recognized that it is important to take preventive measures from the viewpoint of human factors. In this study, the mechanism of human error that causes accidents is analyzed based on the psychological and behavioral traits such as human perception, cognition, and judgment. Furthermore, the construction of safety culture as a prevention measure in organizations is proposed, and several problems relating to safety management and safety culture are discussed
