A Study of the Practical Instruction of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation including Automated External Defibrillator Use in the Guidelines 2005

The purpose of this study is to clarify the practical instruction of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) including automated external defibrillator (AED) use in the Guidelines 2005 (G2005). In this study six major changes of CPR and AED in G2005 are put in order in terms of carrying out basic life support (BLS) practical instructions effectively to a victim as soon as a cardiac arrest is suspected or who is in the unconscious condition. It is very important not only for instructors but also for the general public to understand AED\u27s role and function in relation to CPR usage. This study shows the scope and sequence of manipulating CPR including AED use according to Guidelines 2005, which have been carefully examined and standardized by the American Heart Association (AHA) with Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM)
