Chemical inhibitors of cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK), like roscovitine, are promising drugs in thecontext of new cancer therapies. Roscovitine and related compounds, like seliciclib and olomoucine, are effective inducers of apoptosis in many proliferating cells in culture.
