2012-07-25This paper examines the past and present future of Nepal, its culture and its health care. Specifically, it addresses some of the primary issues surrounding infant and maternal health care in the rural villages in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains. The purpose of this analysis is to not only understand the main causes of death and the medical and cultural cures for the causes of death, but also to understand the reasons that these cures are not being employed. Another aim is to study how communication and public relations can increase awareness of diseases and disease prevention in rural areas, and to explore the obstacles that language and cultural differences can create when introducing Western concepts into these area...
