MILLINGTON J. (2000) Migration and age: the effect of age on sensitivity to migration stimuli, Reg. Studies 34 , 521-533. A review of the migration literature reveals a lack of studies that explicitly examine the relationship between age and sensitivity to migration stimuli. Poisson modelling techniques are employed on British inter-county gross migration ows to produce results which emphasize the importance of age disaggregation in empirical migration studies. Allowing for a variety of migration stimuli, responsiveness to spatial labour market disparities declines through the lifecycle whilst the converse is true of housing and amenity effects.
