UnrestrictedThis study was conducted to examine characteristics contributing to high self control for incarcerated youth. Subjects include fifty youth (8 females and 42 males) ages 14 through 18 incarcerated for at least 60 days. Data on subjects’ responses from a validated measure (Grasmick et. al. Scale, 1993) and data from historical records, STAR reading and facility level movement at the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility (HYCF), were closely analyzed to provide accurate findings.
