UnrestrictedIt is well established that matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) play important roles in tissue injury, cell differentiation, and cancer metastasis. In liver injury, hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) express high level of MMPs and undergo trans-differentiation to become myofibroblast like cells.
