UnrestrictedThe current situation in U.S. K-12 education is such that there is no clarity, consistency, or consensus in the manner in which schools go about implementing a data-driven decision-making process. Simply stated, there is no clearly articulated direction provided to school systems regarding policies and procedures for data analysis. School systems are left to their own devices to develop, design, and implement their own data-based approach. Furthermore, standards-based testing requirements and accountability systems set in place by multiple federal, state, and local legislative mandates require that school administrators and teachers assume the role of data analysts.
