However, regulation of herbal supplements is challenging to enforce because of the diversity of supplements and the various forms in which they are taken. Many supplements come from international sources making their ingredients and production standards difficult to track. Used as a primary source of treatment for a large population, herbal supplements are being dissected by the western medical world as it searches for proofs of its efficacy as well as its interaction with pharmaceuticals
