The image is paired with another under the title, "weaving cloth, India", and the individuals could be involved in the production of cloth. ❧ Thomas Hunter (1827-1857) was the first Church of Scotland missionary to the Punjab; he was murdered with his family during the Indian Mutiny (1857) and had only arrived in Sialkot that year. His successors, John Taylor (1837-1868) and Robert Paterson, would not arrive until 1860
