"Last of Livingstone's Makololo, Nyasaland". Portrait of an older man sitting on a seat outside an African thatch roofed hut. He wears a simple cloth wrap and holds a walking stick out in front of himself. His name is possibly 'Nzwita' or 'Nfwita' and it would appear that he was the last of the surviving Makololo associated with Livingstone from the time he was exploring the Zambezi around 1851. ❧ This image belongs to an album of photographs collected by Dr. Stevenson and includes images from India, China and Africa
