Abstract

Black and white photograph showing Nigerian mothers and babies run by the Methodist Missionary Society in southeast Nigeria. Women wear traditional dress of wraps and blouses or patterned smocks, and wear head-dresses (known as "gele.") Each woman holds a baby on her knee. This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey, Matron of the Ama Achara Methodist Hospital in southeast Nigeria, run by the Methodist Missionary Society
