China missionaries meeting at Keswick, England, ca. 1885-1900

"Keswick Missionary Group from China." The Keswick Convention was founded in 1875 in England's Lake Dstrict. From the mid-1880s onwards missionary meetings became an important part of these annual conferences of evangelical Christians. Many future missionaries to China heard their call to mission service at Keswick and James Hudson Taylor referred to Keswick as "my happy hunting ground".; Album containing approximately 170 photographs and 55 coloured drawings belonging to Lilias Graham, of the Womens' Missionary Association, English Presbyterian Mission in China. Lilias Graham was an honorary missionary with the WMA from 1888 to 1906 when ill-health forced her to retire. She herself funded much of the WMA work in Chuan-Chow [Quanzhou], Fujian Province
