"Wittekleibosch. Der Gebetsbund der Frauen." ("Wittekleibosch. The women's prayer union."). The picture shows a group of 23 women and eight small children of African origin. The women in the first row sit, the others stand behind them. All women wear dark colored scarfs around their heads except one woman who wears a white scarf. Behind the group are trees. On the right a young woman and a boy watching the group. Written on the card board: "Br. Baudert 1930." ("Br[other] Baudert 1930.").; Wittekleibosch is an outstation of Clakson. -- The Xhosa term for the women's prayer union is "umanyano". -- The picture was probably taken by Samuel Baudert (1879-1956), born as son of the missionary Samuel Baudert in South Africa. He was the mission director of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine from 1924 to 1927 and since 1929 their bishop. It might also be possible that the picture was taken by Eugen Theodor Baudert (1876-1953) who worked as a lecturer at the theological seminar in Mvenyane
