Photograph of an exterior view of the Mission Santa Clara from the road, ca.1900. The chapel of the mission is pictured to the right of center, its clapboard-sided bell tower attached to its left side. Farther left, a dark one-story adobe building appears to be extending from the chapel, behind a picket fence. A dirt road cuts across the frame, a cross on the side opposite oof the chapel. The silhouettes of pedestrians can be seen near the gate that leads into the chapel's main doors.; Picture file card attributes the following to Charles B. Terrill: "I copied the Daguerotype, probably made by Ford previous to 1858. This daguerotype is at Santa Clara"
