Photograph of an exterior view of the Mission San Luis Obispo, ca.1870. A large clump of tree foliage at the top of the Romanesque steps leading up to the mission's main building obscures most of the lower floor. Three arched windows can be seen on the second floor of the adobe mission, however, each with a bell hanging within it. Two more can be see at the building's right side. The mission's cloister stands in front along the sidewalk, its doors shaded by overhanging eaves. The roof is covered by terracotta tiles. Writing on the main building's front reads: "EST Cx" and "Reparata MDCCCLXVII"
