Six Indian baskets on display, ca.1900

Photograph of six unidentified Indian baskets on display, ca.1900. Three of them sit on a blanket with a zig-zag and striped pattern, in front of a blanket with narrow horizontal stripes. Two of them sit on a wooden pedestal on the same blanket. One of them hangs from the blanket backdrop. There are three basic types: shallow platter, round bowl, round jar with neck and narrow mouth. One of the bowl-shaped baskets has a fringe around the rim. The woven designs are all different including zigzags, diamonds, stripes, hourglasses, steps, etc. Image 38
