Abstract

Photograph of an exterior view of the Los Angeles Soap Company building with personnel and John A. Forthmann Senior, March 17, 1889. The two story redbrick building can be seen, at center. Eight men and a boy can be seen standing outside the front entrance of the building, on the sidewalk, next to a horse-drawn cart that stands parked on the side of the street in the right foreground. John A. Forthmann Senior can be seen, 3rd, from right to left. Legible signs include the following: "Office Los Angeles Soap Co.", "Western Star soap for sale by all grocers", and "Post no bills"
