Abstract

Photograph of Bethlehem steel being unloaded from the freighter Cubore, Los Angeles Harbor, October 4, 1927. The bow of the Cubore, a ship from the Calmar Steamship Line, can be seen in the foreground at left. At right, a road runs from the foreground to the background. Several large steel beams can be seen on the ground between the ship and the road, and workers can be seen among the beams. A truck-mounted crane is parked near the side of the road at right and is lifting a number of the beams. Smoke spews from two large smokestacks or chimneys in the background at center, while utility poles are visible at right. Compares to CHS-35838, which shows the same scene
