Beyond it, to the left, the first Los Angeles High School (built in 1872/1873) stands on Pound Cake Hill. The street is unpaved.; In the original record, the LAHS was described as standing on Fort Moore Hill. The school, however, was moved to Fort Moore Hill in 1882 -- 10 years after it was built
