Critical Analysis of Preaching in Catholic Churches of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area

In lieu of the statement of the Vatican II Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy concerning the placement and function of the homily within the liturgy, it shall be the function of this paper to do a critical analysis of the rhetorical effectiveness of the homilist in his delivery of the homily. The criticism of pastoral speaking is and has been a perennial effort. Examination of the problem shall not concern itself with theological exactitude, nor with the subjective selected content of the homily.
