This study constitutes an attempt to determine what the nature of Knolles\u27 influence upon Byron was, particularly as that influence might be shown in The Oriental Tales. As such, the investigation is probably the first to deal in any detail with this subject, and one of the few devoted to the influence of Byron\u27s reading on his poetry
