This thesis aims to collect much of the bibliographical material, which is available, not only in the introductions to the German translations of Byron\u27s works, but also of articles in German periodicals, and above all in monographs, dealing with Byron. The analysis of such bibliography is based upon personal examination and whereover my interpretation is second hand, I shall so indicate. The thesis claims by no means to be a complete study of all German dissertations, yet the major works and reviews have been on Lord Byron. It is hoped therefore, that my treatise may be of help to those students who are interested in the carefully constructed German scholarship of one of England\u27s great poets
