This study investigated the recruitment and retention of international undergraduate students at small, private colleges and universities in Wisconsin. This study sought to find successful recruitment and retention strategies and illuminate barriers to the recruitment and retention processes. The population consisted of 18 private colleges and universities in Wisconsin which enrolled fewer than 4,000 full-time undergraduate students. The research was conducted in four phases. In Phase I, a questionnaire was sent to all institutions in the population securing data on recruitment and retention statistics.
