EFFECT OF DIFERENT SIZES OF TUBERS BULBS ON MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTIC AND SEEDS PRODUCTIONS OF GLADIOLUS (Gladiolus spp.)

Raziskovalno delo je temeljilo na čebulastih gomoljih gladiol (Gladiolus spp.) različnih velikosti. Uporabili smo čebulaste gomolje petih velikostnih razredov. Namen diplomskega dela je bil proučiti vpliv velikosti čebulastega gomolja na morfološke lastnosti rastlin in njihov pridelek semen. Ugotovili smo, da so se iz večjih čebulastih gomoljev razvile značilno večje rastline. Statistično značilne razlike so se pokazale pri maksimalni širini lista, dolžini najdaljšega lista, številu socvetij, številu stranskih poganjkov na glavnem steblu, višini cvetnega stebla, debelini cvetnega stebla pod prvim cvetom in številu cvetov. Pri vplivu velikosti čebulastih gomoljev na pridelek semen smo prav tako ugotovili, da so rastline iz čebulastih gomoljev 1. in 2. velikostnega razreda tvorile največ semenskih mešičkov in semen.The aim of the presented study was to analyse the influence of corm size on various morphological traits and seed of gladioli (Gladiolus spp.). The study involved five different corm size groups. It was established that larger corms resulted in bigger plants. Significant differences were found for the maximum leaf width and length of the longest leaf, number of inflorescences, number of lateral branches on the main stem, height of the stem, stem diameter below the first flower and the number of flowers per inflorescence. When studying the influence on seed set, it was established that plants originating from the two groups characterised by the largest corms developed the largest capsules and the highest number of seeds
