Diplomsko delo sem opravljala v Fizikalnem laboratoriju Službe kakovosti v Cinkarni Celje, d. d., kjer med drugim določajo tudi kadmij nizkih (sledov) koncentracij v vodah. Standard SIST EN ISO 15586:2003 opisuje metodo za določevanje nizkih koncentracij (sledov) kadmija v vodah. V standardu so navedene sposobnosti metode, dobljene z vrednotenjem medlaboratorijske primerjave, in optimalno območje določevanja kadmija v vodah od 0,4 µg/L do 4 µg/L, kar je območje, ki je zanimivo za matrice pitnih, površinskih in podzemnih vod ter deževnic. Preverili smo ali lahko s spektrometrom Varian SpectrAA DUO, AA 240Z GTA 12 dosežemo parametre standarda in zahteve Pravilnika o pitni vodi.
