POWER OF SILENCE IN PSYCHOANALYSIS

Magistrska naloga se dotika področja psihoterapije, natančneje psihoanalize. Terapevti pri svojem delu uporabljajo tudi tišino in nekateri ji pripisujejo velik pomen in zasluge pri uspešnem psihoterapevtskem procesu. Osredotočila sem se na njeno moč in pravilnost tega, o čemer terapevti poročajo. Je lahko tišina diagnostično sredstvo za oceno lastnega stanja? Lahko govorimo o tišini kot korektivni izkušnji za pacienta? In katere vrste tišin se v času psihoanalitskega procesa pojavljajo? Glavna raziskovalna metoda izhaja s področja deskriptivne empirične fenomenologije, ki se osredotoča na opis subjektivnih stanj. Ničesar namreč ne moremo odkriti brez subjektivnega (Giorgi, 2009, str. 205). S pomočjo enostavnega vzorca in idiografske analize sem prišla do teorije, ki sem jo poskusno utemeljila (ang. grounded theory). V preučevanih primerih se je izkazalo, da je tišina pomembno orodje za pacienta, saj lažje diagnosticira lastno notranje stanje, ter za terapevta, ki lahko uporabi material iz tišine za nadaljnjo analizo. Tišina je prav tako pomembna za zagotavljanje sprejemajočega odnosa, kar pripelje do uspešnejšega psihoanalitičnega procesa (morda tudi korektivne izkušnje). Pojavijo se tudi različne vrste tišine, ki jih je mogoče umestiti v dimenzijo odnosa med terapevtom in pacientom.Master\u27s thesis points the domain of psychotherapy, in detail psychoanalysis. The therapeutists use silence in their work and some of them ascribe it great importance and merits at the successful psychotherapeutic process. I focused on its power and I asked myself if the reports of the therapeutists hold. Can silence be a diagnostic means for the estimation of the own situation? Can we talk about silence as corrective experience for the patient? And what kind of silences appear during the psychoanalytic process? The main research method results from the domain of descriptive empirical phenomenology, which is focused on the description of the subjective situations. In other words we can not discover anything without subjective (Giorgi, 2009, page 205). By the help of the simple pattern and idiographic analysis I found out the theory, which I grounded experimentally (ang. grounded theory). In the study cases it was found out, that the silence is an important factor for the patient, because he can diagnose easily the proper internal situation and for the therapeutist, who can use material from the silence for further analysis. Silence is also likewise important for the assurance of accepting relationship, what leads to more successful psychoanalytic process (perhaps also corrective experience).
