Special Issue on the Future and Frontier of Applied Intelligence

[[abstract]]The 22nd International Conference on Industrial, Engineering and Other Applications of Applied Intelligent Systems (IEA/AIE 2009), held in Taiwan and organized by the National University of Tainan and National University of Kaohsiung, is one of the greatest international forums for researchers and scholars in the related fields of applied intelligence. Following the success of its previous 21 series, IEA/AIE 2009 has received 286 submissions from over 30 countries and only 84 papers were accepted for oral presentation and publication in the proceedings. This special issue collects 6 papers from this prestigious event, each of which has received outstanding recommendations from the reviewers and two of them were bestowed the conference’s best paper award. All papers were further expanded and reviewed again to guarantee the highest quality
