The research is about TB awareness level and working pressure of the caring staff in Taichung

[[abstract]]Tuberculosis is one of the most serious infectious diseases in Taiwan. There are nearly twelve thousand new cases annually. Ever since we conduct Directly Observed Treatment Short-Course, which the DOTS caring staff deliver drugs in person at least five days a week, the cure rate increase significantly and the death rate decrease year by year. The result shows that conducting Directly Observed Treatment Short-Course does help controling tuberculosis. This study, which focused on DOTS caring staff in Taichung, was designed to investigate TB awareness level and working pressure of the caring staff. By analyzing the questionnaire, which was collected during September to October in 2014,and we received the whole 57 questionnaire back, it shows that there are more female DOTS caring staff in Taichung, most of them are about 50 to 59 years old, with high school eductation, doing the job about 4 to 6 years, and they are mostly married. The analysis result shows that the average score for tuberculosis awareness level was 83 points, and the full marks was 85 points, which means the DOTS caring staff in Taichung are generally aware of tuberculosis. The pressure for being infected mainly comes from family factors, mostly because the family are worried about DOTS caring staff being infected. They quit the job mostly because of their family and the job itself, and most of them are unmaired, which compared to the elder DOTS caring staff are more adapt to the drug delivery job, and the job-quitting rate is lower, too. According to the study result, it can be used as a reference for hiring DOTS caring staff in the future
