A Research on the Correlation between Job Burnout, Family Pressure and Retain Intention of Nursing Assistants

[[abstract]]Purpose :The more the aging of population increase, the more the demand of long-term care and health care worker elevate dramatically. Therefore, the research is going to investigate into the relevance between job burnout, family pressure and retain intention of nursing assistants. Surveys: To do the research, I used cross-section survey and Purposive Sampling. I sent out 385 questionnaires to nursing assistants who live in the south of Taiwan, and there are 350 effective questionnaires. After sorting out the 350 questionnaires, I did data processing and statistical analysis by using SPSS12.0. Consequent: After using the logistic regression to analysis other relevant variables, I observed the level of education, work experience, the current seniority, having a certificate or not and job burnout are significantly related to retain intention. College graduation practice is more willing to stay than senior high school. The work experience of nursing assistants, who are 2-6 years (25-72 months) or over 6 years (73 months), are more eager to stay than the one, who is only 2 years, but on the contrary, the current seniority of nursing assistants, who is more than 2 years (25 months or more), have the ambition to stay is lower than the one, who work below 2 years (24months). Moreover, the nursing assistants ,who have the certificate with the Level C technician for caring service, have the intention to stay is lower than the one ,who do not have the certificate; In the part of job burnout, I found out the nursing assistants, who have workplace fatigue-professional, are more desirous of stay than the one, who does not have. Conclusion :In this research, the education, job characteristic, job burnout and the certificate are positively correlated to retain intention; the negative relationship is current seniority; the others are not obvious relevance, such as family pressure
