[[abstract]]Taiwan has entered aging society. The risk of stroke grew with aging, especially for the elder population of age 65 and above. In 2007, cerebrovascular disease is the third leading cause of death. In which, stroke has become one of the major diseases bring disability and death. It always needs to spend huge medical expenses and increasing burden for the family and society. This study aimed to analyze the stroke incidence and type distribution regarding the middle-aged population in Taiwan. The relationships between stroke and the three risk factors, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and hyperglycemia were researched and explored respectively.
