Explore the Creation of E-Material with AR: An Example of Computer Assembly Teaching

[[abstract]]Due to the facilities and the integration with many 3C products, personal computer has penetrated into our daily life dramatically. For managing the computer, many users became interested in learning how to assemble. As a result, many types of computer assembly books are offered. However, books are not able to portrait the components with actual size nor to demonstrate the assembly process. Thus, the goal of this research is to create digital teaching materials about computer assembly. Besides, the digital teaching material is reinforced by Augmented Reality to assist users familiar with computer parts, sizes and relative positions. Moreover, there will be actual video footages of the whole assembly process. Ultimately the digital teaching materials are going to be composed into a module that can be used for other teaching material produced in the future.Finally, in order to verify the effectiveness of the e-materials produced in this study, an experimental research design with two groups of fifteen subjects each is employed. One group learns from e-material and the other group learns from paper material. Both groups of subjects accept questionnaire test for the capability and knowledge of computer assembling.
