To Explore the Factors Affecting Electronic Medical Records in Hospitals in Taiwan

[[abstract]]The purpose of this study was to explore the factors affecting electronic medical records in hospitals in Taiwan. The questionnaire were mailed to information departments of 112 hospitals ,total number of respondents were 54 response rate is 48%, and face-to-face in-depth interview was given 10 electronic medical records directors .To understand the concept of electronic medical records, and development problem of electronic medical records system. The findings of this study were: now the government carry out a policy in the early stage, hospitals are faced with difficult to recruit IT staff and offer train of professionals. The most important factors for not yet implementation of electronic medical records is fund, the government help to overcome the problem and provide fund to implement electronic medical records. The convenience of access to medical records and applications, reduce time of looking for records, and establish the basis information exchange, raise the overall quality of medical care .Therefore, the government should help to overcome and increase financing incentives for all hospitals
