[[abstract]]To increase the competitiveness of software industry, reduced product development life cycle and integrated processes are necessary to cut down production cost. Concurrent engineering is a systematic method which can effectively integrate product design processes and reduce the product development life cycle. In order to improve the software quality, the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie-Mellon University proposed Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
