The International Monthly Magazine devoted space to fiction, poetry, biographical articles, travel, and took a special interest in literary criticism. It was ably edited by Rufus Wilmot Griswold assisted by Charles G. Leland. Many of the English serials were reprinted and a fashion department with illustrations was added in November of 1850. On the whole, it resembled its greatest rival, Harper's Magazine.Title from caption.Vol. title pages, issued separately, have title: International monthly magazine of literature, science, and art.Mode of access: Internet
