Laurencia paitensis; Rhodomelaceae

Laurencia paitensis Taylor, determined by Taylor 1945There are two syntypes of Laurencia paitensis in MICH, both being 114. Taylor did not designate a holotype but did depict this specimen in his pl. V, fig. 1 (1947). Dawson, Acleto & Foldvik (1964, pl. 81) also depicted this syntype, calling it "The type specimen", implying it to be the holotype or lectotype - M. Wynne 27.vi.198
