The photograph shows the annual Harvest Home Festival at Ann Arbor's Second Baptist Church. The Second Baptist was one of the first two African-American churches founded in the city; organization began in 1865. The Harvest Home Festival was yearly event celebrating the prosperity of the church and its members. Each October, the church alter was decorated with fruits and vegetables.This photograph can also be found in the "African-American Community" narrative in the Topics section of this website
