Schools Open This Morning

• Church bells rang for the first time in five weeks since the ban on public gatherings went into effect October 6• Crowds in movies were forbidden yesterday, but that did not prevent crowds from waiting outside to purchase tickets for the next show• At the Y.M.H.A soldiers rejoiced for the first time in many weeks that they were permitted to enjoy the hospitality of the club, a supper given by the Woman’s Auxilary to the Jewish Welfare Board• Today the YMCA will reopen all departments• The public schools, the University of Louisville and the business colleges will also open today• While the removal of the ban will permit the resumption of the bit ‘special’ sales a the Louisville stores, those in charge have been cautioned to prevent crowding, to keep temperatures at 65 or below, to have maximum ventilation and to exclude persons having symptoms of influenza. No special sales are to be held after noon.• Similar restrictions will apply to places of amusement and to soft rink stands. Violators will feel the full weight of the restrictions witch the city health officer has been given full authority to enforce• Saloons and soda fountains may go back to their old hours of business todayNewspaper article
