All Flu Cases In Quarantine

A new ban went into effect to quarantine all flu cases. 'The rest of the city will go about itsbusiness in its accustomed way.' The City Council appropriated $5000 to pay for health inspectors, 'under thedirection of Chief Quarantine Inspector Kimmick,' to drive around an place placards where flu cases have beenreported and enforce the current regulations. 'It is especially desirable that everyone in the city, including the city officials themselves, should unite to back up the health department to the greatest possible extent in order thatthe 'flu' may be stamped out at the earliest possible minute.' Those flu victims still recovering from it, should notgo to the downtown shopping district. 675 new flu cases reported to the health authorities yesterday and 15 ofinfluenza-pneumonia, with 28 deaths from the flu and its complications. Some cases were several days old. Dr.Powers urges everybody to follow the quarantine regulations. He added: "By the time of closing work thisevening the major part of the work of quarantining in the fourteen districts was completed.
