Saloons To Remain Open But No Goods Purchased To Be Drunk on Premises

Previously four board members had closed saloons by telephone-vote, but that portion of the closure ban was lifted. It was complained that it would e unfair to allow pharmacies to sell bottled alcohol and not allow saloons, particularly since sale of liquor would be prohibited after July 1, 1919.• A visit from the Law and Order Committee of the Federation of Churches had caused Dr. Peters to take for a telephone vote on the matter of closing saloons.
