Abstract

• 319 cases of influenza, nine cases of lobar pneumonia, and nine instance of broncho-pneumonia were reported in 24 hours. In that period there were also three influenza deaths, nine lobar pneumonia deaths, and three broncho-pneumonia deaths• Dr. Staniland is concerned that the daily report to the health department is incorrect, and believes that a large number of these are severe colds. Dr. Gram and the advisory board intend to meet to discuss the issue in detail.• Doctors feel that current bad weather and large crowds attending the war exposition contribute to the rate of illness.Newspaper article
