The object of the inspection is to eliminate all tubing that might prove detrimental when used for jacketing in the assembly of EBR-II fuel elements. Quality requirements specify that wall defects or localized reduction of wall thickness equal to or greater than 10% of the wall thickness are cause for rejection.This report describes an inspection of approximately 136,000 feet of EBR-II fuel-jacket tubing conducted nondestructively using eddy-current techniques. Although a complete description of the inspection equipment is included, emphasis is placed on various techniques in application of existing instrumentation to the inspection problem. Production details as well as the results obtained through the use of these techniques are included....
