Eighteen pedestrian high crash sites were identified to evaluate various pedestrian safety countermeasures as a part of a Las Vegas pedestrian safety program. These sites were identified based on the number of crashes in the proximity of each location. Pedestrian safety countermeasures were selected based on the number of crashes and the prevailing geometric conditions. However, it is important that data be collected to study behavior of the traffic at these sites to support the selection of the pedestrian safety countermeasures. This paper discusses the collection and analysis of traffic data at the selected sites. Results obtained from the data collection efforts are discussed
