Investigation Of Air Quality In Istanbul By Using Geographical Information Systems

İnceleme periyodu içinde SO2 ve APM seviyelerinin azalan bir trend gösterdiği ve belirlenen model üzerinde ise en etkili değişkenin sıcaklık olduğu belirlenmiştir. Mekansal analiz sonucunda, Avrupa yakasında inceleme dönemlerinde yüksek kirlilik seviyelerinin meydana geldiği, bu durumun şehrin her iki yakası için uygulanan trend analizinde de görüldüğü 1995-96 ve 1999-2000 ısınma mevsimlerinde kirlilik seviyelerinin karşılaştırması her iki mevsimde de yüksek kirlilik yaşanan bölgelerin şehrin en yüksek nüfus yoğunluğuna sahip olan aynı ilçeleri kapsadığı belirlenmiştir.In this study, the relation between pollution concentration level and meteorological parameters is examined for the period of 1992 to 2000 with statistical methods. GIS is used to define the relation between pollution level and land uses and population density. The SO2 and TSP’s periodical changes from 1992 to year 2000 are examined and the concentration levels had a decreasing trend. It was observed that, temperature was the most effective factor on the identified model. It is determined that the European side had higher SO2 and TSP concentrations than Asian side for all investigated period. Although a decrease observed on SO2 and TSP levels during the heating periods of the compared periods 1995-96 and 1999-2000, high pollution involved in European side at the same areas for both heating periods. It was found out the most polluted areas were the most densely populated areas of the city in each heating period.DoktoraPh
